Paul Dickov: It'll be hard to turn down bids from clubs like Chelsea or Man City for Vardy
Leicester striker Jamie Vardy celebrates opening the scoring in the 3-0 win against Newcastle

PAUL DICKOV reckons it would be hard for Leicester to resist a big-money bid for in-form striker Jamie Vardy.

Vardy equalled Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Premier League goalscoring record after finding the net for the tenth consecutive time in the 3-0 win at Newcastle on Saturday - firing the Foxes to the top of the league.
The 28-year-old has now scored 13 goals in all competitions, is the league’s leading goalscorer and has found himself included in the last two England squads.

This lethal form has seen the former Stocksbridge, Halifax and Fleetwood forward undoubtedly attract interest from some big clubs, which Dickov feels will intensify when offers are put on the table.
“The owners are fantastic people but if a Chelsea or a Manchester City came in for him they’d find it very hard to turn them down,” Dickov told talkSPORT.
“You’d have to be fair to Jamie himself too given the job he has done. If somebody came in it would give him the chance to kick on again."

Dickov also revealed he attempted to sign Vardy for £30,000 when he was in charge of Oldham in 2009.
He added: “We [Oldham] kept getting told about this lad at Halifax called Jamie Vardy. We actually tried to sign him for £30,000 six years ago but couldn’t get the finances!”
Vardy has also reportedly been scouted by Manchester United after Louis van Gaal sent scouts to watch the £15million-rated striker play against West Brom and Watford.
