WhatsApp has added support for actionable notifications in its latest update |
iPhone owners have been able to reply and action notifications since iOS 8 rolled out worldwide.
Whilst Apple fans have been able to Like Facebook posts, reply to iMessages and action Calendar alerts since 2014 – WhatsApp has dragged its feet.
But the hugely popular messaging service has now added the ability to reply without leaving your current app, simply by swiping on a notification.
Users can now reply from the homescreen and notification centre without having to specifically seek out and load the WhatsApp app.
You can now swipe to delete or reply from within the notification centre or lockscreen |

The new update also brings actionable notifications to your lockscreen, which means you can reply or dismiss without unlocking your iPhone.
Actionable notifications also work on Apple Watch too, so wearable users can send a canned response or dictate a reply from their wrist.
The update allows users to start a brand-new conversation – or search for an old one – from the grid of iOS icons on the homescreen.
WhatsApp recently confirmed it had more than 900million users – making it the world's most popular messaging service.
