Destiny update: Activision talk options for more content and future DLC strategy
Destiny will have more DLC and microtransactions added in the future
Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg has revealed that the game's new microtransactions are selling well and look set to be a feature going forward, along with great content supplied through expansions.
Talking at an earnings call today, Hirshberg outlined how Activision saw the future of Destiny and how the company were open to another shift in the game's marketing strategy.
"As far as any shifts in strategy, I don't have any announcements today, but I think we have a lot of options at our disposal," he said.
"And the reason for that of course is that we have such great engagement with this game."

Activision Blizzard's official earnings report shows that the number of registered users is now up to 25 million, an increase of 5 million on May and 9 millions on February.
"Daily player engagement is now well above 3 hours per day and the Destiny community has climbed to over 25 million registered players," the report states.
It also concludes that Destiny has become the most watched console game on Twitch, while Hirshberg pushed the idea of more microtransactions and DLC content from Bungie being released together in the future.

"We had a full year of expansions to the game that have been very well received and sold quite well. More recently, you've seen us introduce smaller, in-game purchases that allow people to customize their experience and express themselves; those have been very well received and have sold well also," he added.
"I think we've already shown that DLC and microtransactions can co-exist and that our community is hungry for more great content.
"I think they're already co-existing."
Bungie have confirmed that they plan to launch more Destiny update quests and items for free for the immediate future, while the Eververse Trading Company provides paid-for content.
