Black Ops 3 Double XP weekend goes live for Treyarch's Xbox One, PS4 and PC fans

The Black Ops 3 Double Weapon XP Weekend is live

BLACK Ops 3 fans on Xbox One, PS4 and PC will get another chance to rank up this weekend with a new Double Weapon XP weekend announced by Treyarch.

Weapon levels are set to rise faster in Black Ops 3 this weekend, helping players to unlock those much needed attachments and camos for their chosen arsenal.

However, unlike the last weekend event from Treyarch, fans will not see their overall experience rise at the same rate.

The Double Weapon XP Weekend was originally set to kick off on Thursday 26, at around 4pm UK time and end at the same time on November 30.

However, Treyarch has confirmed that they decided to launch the event today instead.

It gives those fans with the day off for Thanksgiving in the United States a chance to make some serious progress.

Treyarch confirmed the news on Twitter, writing: "Time to work on those diamond camos! 2xWeapXP this weekend, starting Thursday (10am/PST) - Monday (10am/PST).

 Before adding: "How about we get this party started a little early? #BlackOps3 2xWeapXP is now live (PS4/XboxOne/PC).

"For those celebrating the #Thanksgiving holiday, please be safe, have fun and make sure to gorge yourselves on copious amounts of 2xWeapXP."

The official Black Ops 3 Double XP Weekend run earlier this month was extended to Xbox 360 and PS3 players, although it is unclear if the same will be done this time round.

Within its first three days of availability, players set a new record for engagement per player for Call of Duty by spending more than 75 million hours online in Black Ops 3.
