NINTENDO are set to reveal more on their mobile gaming project and have also given an update on some of the amazing Mario Maker courses available on Wii U.
It appears that the Japanese games giant may be about to throw a curveball when it comes to their debut in the mobile gaming market.
Nintendo revealed their plans to enter the mobile and tablet games industry earlier this year, teaming up with DeNA who will look to successfully introduce their IP to the platform.
According to the Twitter account of the CEO of Tokyo-based game industry consultancy, Kantan Games, we're about to find out what unexpected route Nintendo are ready to take.
"About that first Nintendo-DeNA mobile game: Expect the unexpected, and soon," a message released from the account cryptically revealed.
The Japanese online game maker, DeNA has already backed the partnership with Nintendo to bring in over 3 billion yen a month for the company.
The jointly developed games will be available through phones and tablets as well as Nintendo's Wii U and 3DS consoles.
"We haven't talked to Nintendo about targets, but at DeNA, our best-selling game brought in 3 billion yen a month, and we want to surpass that," DeNA Chief Executive Isao Moriyasu said, referring to smartphone game Kaito Royale which was turned into a TV series.
Nintendo have yet to reveal more news on the project since its annoucement in April but have been helping fans find the best Super Mario Maker courses to try out on their Wii U consoles.
Finding the top courses amongst the millions of fan-made content is hard work, so Nintendo have put together a list of what has caught their eye and plans to update it every week.
"Here at Nintendo, we’ve been playing a LOT of Super Mario Maker lately, especially the millions of cool, custom levels you've made in Course World," the company explained.
"And each week we’ll post some of the fun courses we’ve enjoyed."
