Xbox One free games for October through Xbox Live Games with Gold REVEALED

The October free games on offer via Xbox Live

MICROSOFT have the Xbox One free games set to be launched in October on Xbox Live's Games with Gold program.

 

The tech giant has revealed that for the month of October, Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games – two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360.

Xbox One fans who have a Xbox Live Gold membership will have the chance to download Valiant Hearts: The Great War for the first half of the month, followed by The Walking Dead: from October 16 to November 15.

The lineup for Xbox 360, starting Thursday, October 1, includes Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes till October 15, before being swapped out on October 16 with The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season until October 31.

Microsoft confirmed earlier this year that all games included in the Xbox 360 Games with Gold program would also be backward compatible, meaning there could be a fair amount of repition in titles between the two consoles.

Xbox have warned that some regions may offer different titles depending on market availability, meaning that the UK lineup when officially launched could differ from the titles above.

 

It follows the news recently revealed by Mike Ybarra, Director of Program Management for Xbox, on how the latest update to the Xbox One platform would affect fans.

A statement from Ybarra explains: "As director of program management on the platform team at Xbox, I wanted to share an update of what to expect with the transformation in November.

"The New Xbox One Experience will be powered by Windows 10, elevating the gaming experience on Xbox One. Integrating the speed of Windows 10, the New Xbox One Experience will get you to popular gaming features up to 50 percent faster.

"Instantly start a party, see what your friends are playing, and get updates to your recently played games from Home with no wait time. We’ll also be delivering your most requested feature – Xbox One Backward Compatibility."
