Nintendo NX Update: Pokemon Company talk plans to expand on new console
A new Nintendo NX update includes more on what to expect from the Pokemon franchise

THE Nintendo NX has been given an update by the Pokemon Company who plan to expand the popular franchise on the new console.

There was a lot of news for Pokemon fans in general discussed by Pokemon Company’s president and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, who covered Pokemon Shuffle, Pokken Tournament, as well as Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon.
He also spoke about some of the company's plans for the new Nintendo console, which is still very much shrouded in mystery.
The Nintendo NX is rumoured to be less of a singular console but actually a platform, which will include both a handheld and home console device.
A new patent spotted by fans appears to show a new handheld device which could be connected to that new platform.
The Nintendo NX will reportedly compare to the PS4 and Xbox One in terms of power, perhaps gambling on the lifecycle of both consoles lasting as long as the last-gen Xbox 360 and PS3.
There is also the chance that the new console will also exclude an optical drive, while also providing the option of syncing with the portable device.

None of this has been confirmed by Nintendo, who say they will reveal more about the NX project in 2016.
However, the Pokemon Company’s president and CEO's recent comments could provide further insight into Nintendo's plans.
In an interview with Japanese language website Famitsu, Ishihara revealed that they hoped to bring the Pokemon Global Link and Pokemon Bank to the NX, essentially improving their cloud services for future game platforms.
He said that they wanted to make it easy for fans to use their Pokemon in multiple titles with ease and also be able to return them to the cloud once they had finished.

This would certainly feed into the idea of a floating gaming platform recently reported on but could also just be referencing the Pokemon Comany's continuing support of handheld devices.
Ishihara also confirmed during the interview that Pokemon Shuffle has proven a worldwide success by being downloaded by more than five million players, while the Pokken Tournament could be released as early as spring 2016.
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, meanwhile, was described as being packed with the most content so far developed by Spike Chunsoft, and published by The Pokemon Company for the Nintendo 3DS.
It follows the news that Pokemon Go is set to take the mobile world by storm in 2016.
