TOTTENHAM striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been released from his contract by mutual consent.
The 31-year-old was left out of Mauricio Pochettino's 25-man Premier League squad and has not featured or even been given a squad number this season.
"We wish Emmanuel well for the future", a Tottenham statement said.
The Togo international signed on at Tottenham in 2012 for £5m from Manchester City and has been seeking a £5m pay-out from the club so he could terminate his contract a year early.
Tottenham have not disclosed the details of the termination agreement.
"I think it's clear he's not in my idea, in my mind or in the plans for the future of Spurs," Pochettino said earlier this week.

This could open the door for former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood to sign the frontman who rejected a proposed loan move to Aston Villa during the summer.
West Ham have also been keen on securing the services of the former Arsenal man but were put off by his high wage demands.
