WEST BROM'S Ben Foster has suffered a setback to his Euro 2016 hopes after being forced to delay a comeback from a knee injury.
Albion fear the England goalkeeper could be out until Christmas after aggravating the cruciate ligament problem he suffered in March.
He had been hoping to return next month but has been forced to delay those plans, although he is expected to start training in the next two weeks.
He will return with a mission to reclaim his Baggies place from Boaz Myhill in time to secure a place in Roy Hodgson's squad for the finals in France.
He has increased competition to be one of Joe Hart's understudies from Jack Butland, Tom Heaton and John Ruddy while injured Southampton keeper Fraser Forster could also be back.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis said: "It will be Christmas time I think. We've got to be careful and make sure he's right.
"He had a little setback and that's pushed him back a bit but, thank God, it wasn't too bad and he's up and running again now so fingers crossed that he'll be ready to go before Christmas.
"Having spoken to Ben, the most important thing is for him to get fit and start playing for West Brom again, then if the Euros come for him that's brilliant."
