GONZALO HIGUAIN has revealed he snubbed interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool after talking to Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri for just five minutes.
Higuain has helped Napoli to the top of Serie A this season with 22 goals in as many games.
The striker was linked with a move to Chelsea throughout the transfer window, but his Italian club reportedly ended the Blues hopes of signing him by slapping a £76million price tag on the 28-year-old.
Arsenal and Liverpool were also linked with moves for the striker as they looked to strengthen their attacks.
But the Argentina international has admitted he decided to stay at Napoli after being persuaded by Sarri.
"Sarri? He convinced me with his sincerity," Higuain told Serie A's official television channel.
"It took five minutes for him to convince me to stay, and he got the best out of me.
"So far this has been the best year of my career, but we have to be perfect to win. It's hard to top the record of 35 goals in a Serie A season, but I hope I can make it."
