BORUSSIA DORTMUND boss Thomas Tuchel believes Adnan Januzaj's failure to embrace the club led to his unsuccessful loan.
The Belgian made a surprise move to the Bundesliga at the end of the summer transfer window having made a positive start to the season with Manchester United, scoring the winner against Aston Villa.
But the 20-year-old failed to make an impact at the Signal Iduna Park, making just six substitute appearances in the league.
The deal was eventually terminated last month and Januzaj returned to United where he has made one appearance against Southampton.
And Tuchel reckons Januzaj's struggles at Dortmund stemmed from a difficulty to adapt.
"A part of him was always still in Manchester and we just couldn’t help him cut this umbilical cord," Tuchel told FourFourTwo.
"He didn’t wholly embrace Borussia.
"He always compared everything with how it had been at United."
