Why Louis van Gaal is ruining Man Utd's hopes of landing £100m superstar

GARETH BALE does not want to join Manchester United because of Louis van Gaal, according to reports.

Bale, 26, was reportedly on Van Gaal's wish list this January as the boss eyed a world record £100million bid for the ace.

But the Wales international apparently isn't interested in working with the Dutchman at Old Trafford.

 

According to The Sun, the chaos currently residing over the club as Van Gaal's future is cast into doubt has deterred Bale's interest.

Van Gaal reportedly offered his resignation at the weekend after Southampton's 1-0 win at Old Trafford condemned the Red Devils to a sixth league defeat of the season.

 

That offer was rejected by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, who is said to be keen on seeing the season out with Van Gaal before making changes.

But politics at United is not the only problem.

Bale is also thought to be put off by the manager's style of play and is unsure if United will qualify for the Champions League next season.

 

Van Gaal was booed down the tunnel by angry spectators after the Saints defeat, in which they failed to score for a 10th time this term.

United now sit five points off fourth-place Tottenham in the race for a Champions League place.
