WEST HAM have entered the race for Arsenal outcast Mathieu Debuchy.
The Frenchman is set to leave the Emirates Stadium this month in search for first-team football as he looks to secure a place in France's Euro 16 squad.
Aston Villa have been in talks with the Gunners over loan deal for the 30-year-old, while Sky Sports claimed earlier today that Sunderland are keen on his services.
But now, according to Foot Mercato, West Ham are hoping to get there first after Carl Jenkinson - who is on a season-long loan from Arsenal - picked up an injury.
The Hammers signed Sam Byram from Leeds earlier in the window to provide cover for Jenkinson at right-back, but he could now be out for the rest of the season after limping off against Manchester City on Saturday.
A club statement read: "West Ham can confirm that Carl Jenkinson injured his left knee during the early stages of Saturday’s Premier League fixture with Manchester City.
"Unfortunately, it appears that Carl has suffered a significant injury and he will be assessed by a specialist in central London on Wednesday."
