JOSE MOURINHO is better suited to Manchester United than Louis van Gaal, Mark Schwarzer has claimed.

Jose Mourinho backed to replace Louis van Gaal at Man Utd by former Chelsea signing
Jose Mourinho has been backed to succeed Louis van Gaal at Manchester United

Mourinho has been out of the game since Chelsea sacked him in December last year after a string of poor performances.
The Blues were struggling in 16th place in the Premier League when he departed, but that hasn't stopped big clubs being linked with the Portuguese.

Reports emerged last weekend suggesting Mourinho had written a letter to United bosses enquiring about the Old Trafford job.
And Mark Schwarzer, who worked under Mourinho at Chelsea, believes Mourinho can bring the Premier League experience to the role that Van Gaal lacks.

"He is a world class manager," he told talkSPORT.
"His experience, his knowledge of the game and his understanding of the Premier League, which Van Gaal has only had for the last 18 months, would be invaluable to United.

"Mourinho has proven time and time again wherever he has been that he has brought almost immediate success to clubs. His record speaks for itself.
"If it is not Manchester United before the end of the season, or at the end of the season, there will be another world class team knocking on his door trying to get his signature."
