But with a large number of big-name titles including Uncharted 4 and No Man’s Sky set to hit shops, there is a high chance some players may find themselves overwhelmed by the choices on offer.
Thankfully for PS4 users, some of the industry’s best and brightest have revealed which games deserve to be added to your library this year.
Dark Souls 3 has been tipped to take the gaming world by storm, with Paul Rustchynsky of Evolution Studios explaining: "As much as I'm excited to play the latest entry in the Uncharted series or try something as intriguing as The Witness, my inner Souls fan is getting more and more hyped for Dark Souls 3 by the day."

Meanwhile, The Astronauts' Adrian Chmielarz is adamant that Mass Effect Andromeda will be his gaming choice: "If I had to choose just one, it'd be Mass Effect: Andromeda.
"The first trilogy was incredible, and the mind boggles when I imagine what's in store for us in this new instalment of the series."
Uncharted 4 looks set to be a contender for Game of the Year, with Simon Harris of Supermassive Games noting: "I love the genre of action storytelling titles and the Uncharted series has delivered through the previous three tittles, each time getting bigger and more bombastic."

When I saw The Last Guardians' reappearance at E3 I was literally whooping with joy

One title which has gamers buzzing is No Man's Sky, with developer Shahid Ahmad explaining: "How could it be anything else? It's the game I've been looking forward to all my life."
But Heavy Spectrum's Matt Birch is most excited for The Last Guardians, explaining: "When I saw The Last Guardians' reappearance at E3 I was literally whooping with joy. 
"I've had the title on pre-order since its original announcement, so seeing it return was such an exciting moment. I never lost faith!"
