TOTTENHAM have made a £23m bid for Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez, according to reports in Spain.
Jackson Martinez has struggled for goals in La Liga |
The Colombian international joined Atletico in the summer for £26.6m after three prolific seasons at Porto.
But he has struggled to replicate that form in La Liga, scoring just three times in 20 appearances.
Spurs are on the hunt for a new forward to dovetail and take the heat of Harry Kane, who is their sole recognised striker.
According to Spanish publication Marca, Spurs made an opening offer of £23m (€30m) which was rejected by Atletico.
The report says Atletico are unwilling to accept a price lower than what they paid for Martinez in June 2015.
Atletico's ban on registering players could also have an influence whether they decide to let Martinez go.
