The England right-back missed training with a knock on his knee and, if he cannot recover in time, Jon Flanagan is set for his first start since May 2014 after two knee operations.
Centre-back Dejan Lovren has returned to training but is not yet ready to start, while on-loan Steven Caulker is ineligible.
