MANCHESTER UNITED are monitoring Bruno Martins Indi and Ruben Neves in the final week of the transfer window.
Both players were watching by United scouts on Saturday during Porto's 1-0 win over Maritimo, according to the Daily Mail.
Martins Indi can play left or centre back and worked with Louis van Gaal during his spell as Holland boss.
Full back is where United are really short following the injury to Ashley Young and with Matteo Darmian picking up a head injury against Southampton.
Van Gaal is already without Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia and Marco Rojo.
Last week he admitted he could make a move this month to bolster his options in that area.
"Only [Matteo] Darmian is fit, so I need full-backs,” he said before the Southampton game.
“The difficulty is that we ask for a certain level and we are looking, but it is not so easy.
"You have seen how I have used youngsters like [Cameron] Borthwick-Jackson and [Guillermo] Varela, who are doing great, but the level of Manchester United is high.”
Borthwick-Jackson started against Saints on Saturday and was replaced in the final minutes.
Neves, 18, is a central midfielder and has a £29million release clause.
He has has impressed this term and was capped by Portugal earlier this season and attracted interest from Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal already.
