GARETH BALE is being isolated at Real Madrid as his team-mates refuse to involve him in play, according to shock reports.
The Independent claim that the Welsh attacker is suffering at the Bernabeu when playing on the wing.
Manchester United are keen on his services and Bale’s unsettling situation on the pitch may encourage a departure.
The focus surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo at Madrid apparently sees team-mates, primarily 2014 World Cup star James Rodriguez and Marcelo, avoid passing to Bale.
The ex-Red Devils winger reportedly complained to former boss Rafa Benitez about Bale’s switch into the centre during his ill-fated spell in charge.
Ronaldo was frustrated by the attention turning to his fellow forward and it’s all said to have contributed to the lack of service he receives on the flanks.
The former Tottenham man has been repeatedly linked with a return to the Premier League - with United offering a world-record £100million to Real last summer.
If Bale were to head for Old Trafford, should United agree a fee with Real Madrid, the Manchester club would certainly attempt to integrate him better.
Off the field, Bale is claimed to be a quiet individual who favours spending time at home rather than socialising at parties in Madrid.
But with Ronaldo now at the age of 31, Wales international Bale is seen as part of Real’s future under Zinedine Zidane, but he’s finding the current situation difficult.
To add to the problems surrounding a possible exit for Bale, Real Madrid’s transfer embargo is under appeal and they’ll be reluctant to sell if they are unable to replace the winger.
