Liverpool to battle Real Madrid for Bayern Munich's £75m Robert Lewandowski

Liverpool are planning on fighting Real Madrid for Robert Lewandowski, according to reports.
The Polish striker has already racked up 17 Bundesliga goals this season as Bayern Munich look set to seal yet another league title, eight points clear at the top of the table.
And according to the Liverpool Echo, Madrid are lining up a £75million bid to lure the 27-year-old away from the German club.

But Jurgen Klopp is also reportedly keeping tabs on the player whom he coached at Borussia Dortmund.
And with £32.5m summer signing Christian Benteke struggling to adapt to Klopp's pressing game and Daniel Sturridge struggling with perennial injury problems, Lewandowski could slot straight into the number nine role at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp tight-lipped over Alex Teixeira bids

Klopp has refused however to talk about Shakhtar Donetsk striker Alex Teixeira.
The 26-year-old has been open about his desire to join a Premier League club, and Liverpool are said to have had bids of £24m and £28m rejected.

Liverpool News: £75m Real Madrid bid, £38m Teixeira update, Henderson on injury crisis
Will Robert Lewandowski and Alex Teixeira join Jordan Henderson at Liverpool?

The Ukranian club see his value as closer to £38m but Klopp reports that the player himself had agreed personal terms.
“It’s absolutely nothing to say," Klopp said.
“Maybe it surprises you. Nothing to say to things like this.”

Jordan Henderson defends 'intense' Klopp training sessions

Liverpool's injury problems are not as severe as they were a week ago, but Jordan Henderson has nevertheless defending the new manager's training methods despite a number of hamstring problems.
There had been suggestions that Klopp's high-energy training sessions had been the cause of the issues but his captain has been quick to deny the accusations.

"I don't buy it at all, to be honest," Henderson told the Daily Mail.
"The amount of games that we have had, you cannot train that much.
"We play and recover, play and recover, so it is hard to get any kind of training in.
"All we do is tactical stuff.
"It is intense but I wouldn't say it is intense on the body. It's more mentally that (Klopp) tests you.
"He wants you to take on board what he wants from you tactically.
"He wants you to know exactly what he wants from you when he sends you on to the pitch.
"But I honestly don't see how you could it is because of training that all those injuries have come about.
"We haven't trained enough for them to happen."
