STOKE midfielder Charlie Adam has been ruled out for up to six weeks after tearing his calf.

Stoke deflated by Charlie Adam injury update but boosted by Ryan Shawcross comeback
Charlie Adam has made 17 league appearances this term, while Ryan Shawcross has made 13

The Scotland international was injured in the Potters’ Capital One Cup semi-final second leg at Liverpool on Tuesday and now faces a long spell on the sidelines.
But Stoke boss Mark Hughes could have captain Ryan Shawcross back sooner than expected.
The defender had been expected to miss around a month with a back injury sustained last week but is making rapid progress.
Hughes said: “Charlie unfortunately has a pretty bad tear in his calf so is likely to be out five to six weeks.

“That’s a blow for him and us. We’ll have to compensate for that but we have good players in the building so we should be fine.
“Shawcross is quite positive at the moment.
“He feels a lot better within himself, the injury seems to be settling down.
“Initially we thought it would be three to four weeks but now we hope it will be sooner.”
