MANCHESTER CITY will have to wait until they are out of the Champions League for Pep Guardiola to officially sign on as their new manager.
Guardiola has agreed a deal to take over at Eastlands next season but won’t put pen to paper while there could be a conflict with his current employers Bayern Munich.
The 45-year-old has told the City top brass that it is only when there is no chance of the two clubs playing each other this season that he will sign a contract.
City are drawn against Dynamo Kiev while Bayern face Juventus.
The former Barcelona boss revealed in December that he wouldn’t be renewing his contract with Bayern and that he had
City were immediately installed as favourites to do a deal that will see him succeed Manuel Pellegrini.
However, City face competition from rivals Manchester United after Guardiola reportedly held talks with the Red Devils in Paris over a move to Old Trafford.
While Chelsea have also expressed a keen interest in the former Barca boss with Roman Abramovich making him his No1 target, but the prospect of Chelsea not being in the Champions League next season may put the Spaniard off.
