REMI GARDE has hinted that Aston Villa are closing in on their first signing of the January transfer window.
Remi Garde hints at Lovre Kalinic move |
The Villa boss is keen on signing a new goalkeeper after dropping Brad Guzan to the bench for Mark Bunn in the last two Premier League outings.
Villa's goalkeeping scout Tony Coton has reportedly recommended Hajduk Split shot-stopper Lovre Kalinic to solve Garde's problem between the sticks.
The 25-year-old, who has two senior caps for Croatia, is expected to set Villa back £4.9million if they are to land him this month.
And after last night's 2-0 FA Cup win over Wycombe last night, Garde refused to rule out a move for the 6ft 7in keeper.

When asked about the possibility of signing Kalinic, Garde told the BBC: "I'm looking for a goalkeeper...and it might be this one."
Garde is keen to improve his defence in an effort to lift Villa off the foot of the table, with Arsenal's Mathieu Debuchy also set for Villa Park in a loan move.
