SADIO MANE will demand a staggering £125,000-a-week contract to join Manchester United, according to reports.
Mane, 23, is a priority transfer target for United manager Louis van Gaal this winter.
United chased the Senegal international last summer but failed with two offers to land the attacking midfielder.
But Van Gaal is reportedly ready to throw £30million at Mane in a determined attempt to secure the signing.
That is according to the Sun, who claim Mane is open to a move on the condition he is paid a hefty wage.
It is understood Mane will demand a five-year contract worth £32.5m over its duration.
United are no strangers to splashing the cash, with manager Van Gaal this month expected to break the £300m mark on transfer fees since his arrival at Old Trafford after the 2014 World Cup.
The club paid a world record transfer fee for a teenager when they landed Monaco’s Anthony Martial in a £36m deal back in August - a fee that could still rise by £22m in the future.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman dropped Mane for his side’s 1-0 defeat at Norwich yesterday but insisted the selection decision had nothing to do with United’s transfer interest.
“Sadio was one of the 11 players to start but we have rules,” Koeman said.
“In our last meeting two hours before the game he came late. That is impossible. Everybody knows we have a sanction — you don’t start.
“Then you have to make changes in the team and the set-pieces.
“I don’t understand a player who comes late to the last meeting.
“My message to him days ago was that he wasn’t really focused. It was Thursday’s training.”
