Midfielder on route to London to complete Arsenal move

ARSENAL are close to completing the signing of Nigerian U17 star Kelechi Nwakali, according to reports.

 

Kelechi Nwakali was named player of the tournament at the U17 World Cup

 

Nwakali impressed in helping Nigeria win last year's FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile, and was named player of the tournament. 

The 17-year-old has spent time on trial at Manchester City but has been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks. 

And now Nigerian news outlet Tribune report the midfielder is flying in to London with his agent to complete a move to the Emirates.

"I am going to Arsenal to work and try to be the best I can," he said.

"With God anything is possible, to work hard to justify my claim for first team football."

Nwakali’s Nigeria U17 team-mate Samuel Chukwueze, who has also been attracting interest from Arsenal, is also expected to join the north London club.
