MANCHESTER UNITED are lining up a sensational £65million bid for Chelsea's Eden Hazard, according to reports.
The Belgian has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge in the summer after reportedly telling friends he wants to leave the club.
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all been heavily tipped to land the winger, but United are now preparing a £65m offer.
The Daily Star claim the Red Devils have turned their attentions to signing Hazard after realising they won't be able to lure Gareth Bale away from the Bernabeu.
WILL MANCHESTER UNITED BEAT SHEFFIELD UNITED IN THE FA CUP?
A United source said: “The club has to be realistic and realise that signing Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo remains a long shot, which means alternative targets come into the equation.
“Eden Hazard is certainly one of those and the type of player United need if they want to start winning trophies again.”
The report claims United's owners have urged executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to go after Hazard in a deal said to be worth around £250,000-a-week.
News News Blog Sport understands that Chelsea aren't keen on selling the midfielder despite him struggling to hit the ground running this campaign.
And the Blues hope by bringing in Didier Drogba to their backroom coaching staff, he will be able to persuade Hazard into seeing out his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard's contract at Chelsea runs until the summer of 2020.
