Manchester United injury update: Midfield duo ruled out of Liverpool clash at Anfield

MANCHESTER UNITED will remain without midfield duo Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick for Sunday's clash with Liverpool.

 

Schweinsteiger has returned to training after suffering an injury in the FA Cup win over Sheffield United.

However Louis van Gaal has confirmed he will not be ready for action this weekend.

“Schweinsteiger is coming back but he needs more time," Van Gaal said.

“Carrick is injured & cannot play [against Liverpool].”
