Will Jose Mourinho become United's next manager?

 

Guillermo Varela's agent has flown into England to rescue the defender's loan move to Genoa.

The young defender, who made his Manchester United debut last month, was set to join the Serie A club until the end of the season but the deal was scuppered by manager Louis van Gaal.

However according to the International Business Times, Varela's agent is in the UK for talks with United to reverse Van Gaal's decision.

Varela joined United from Uruguayan club Penarol in 2013.

Everton have made a £13.7m bid for United target Islam Slimani.

The Sporting Lisbon striker has had an excellent season, scoring 17 goals in 18 league appearances.

Portuguese newspaper Record say Sporting rejected Everton's bid and are determined to hold onto the player.

Slimani has a £23million (30m euros) release clause but it only becomes active in the summer.

 

Jose Mourinho wants to bring Palermo's Franco Vazquez to Manchester United - if he becomes their next boss.

The Portuguese coach has been heavily linked with Louis van Gaal's job at Old Trafford since being axed by Chelsea in December.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport say Mourinho is a big fan of Vazquez, who is worth around £22.9m (30m euros).
