GUILLERMO VARELA's agent is en route to England to get the Manchester United player's loan move to Genoa back on track.
Varela was set to join Genoa until the end of the season, with a £2million first refusal clause in place, according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
However, it's understood Louis van Gaal has prevented the deal from going ahead and is set to hand the Uruguayan a rare start against Derby in the FA Cup this evening (7.55pm).

The Dutchman has already put a stop to midfielder Andreas Pereira leaving Old Trafford on a temporary deal this month.
And it's believed the United boss will not sanction the departure of Varela either due to the number of injuries United currently have at the back.
Website IBT claims his agent is flying to the UK to hold talks with the club in an effort to get Van Gaal's decision rescinded.
Varela has made only two Premier League appearances for the Red Devils since signing from Uruguayan club Penarol in 2013.
