EVERTON have made a £13.7m bid for Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani, according to reports.

Everton hijack Manchester United's move for striker with £13.7m bid
Islam Slimani has been in prolific form for Sporting

The Daily Mail claim the Algerian has been watched by a host of Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool and West Ham after an excellent season.
United scouts have reportedly provided manager Louis van Gaal with impressive reviews of the attacker and feel he could provide able support for Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial.

The 27-year-old has scored 17 goals and bagged three assists in 18 league appearances so far making him one of the most prolific strikers in Europe.
Slimani's release clause is understood to be around £23million (30m euros).

But Portuguese newspaper Record say Sporting rejected Everton's bid, with the clause only becoming active in the summer.
If Slimani arrived in the Premier League he would join compatriot Riyad Mahrez, who has been among the best players in England at Leicester City.
