CHRIS SMALLING thinks the return to form of Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney can help Manchester United kick on.
Martial and Rooney were both on the scoresheet as the Red Devils squeezed out a 2-1 win over Swansea at Old Trafford.
Rooney's goal was a landmark one - his 188th in the Premier League, while Martial's strike was only his fifth of the campaign.
United's victory helped end an eight-game winless streak.
And Smalling hopes the resurgence of Rooney and Martial will help United have a strong end to the season.
"Today it was all about the result. We fought hard against Chelsea and had to dig in today," Smalling said.
"That’s what we’ve got to do every week.
“We created a number of chances and scored two fantastic goals. If we keep doing that, we’ll win games.
"It’s good to see both our main strikers scoring, and we hope we’ll kick on now, because we can’t afford any more slip ups.
“Anthony Martial’s been terrific. He’s so direct. I know I wouldn’t want to play against him.”
