JOSE MOURINHO’S patience with Manchester United is wearing thin, according to reports.
The former Chelsea boss has long coveted the Red Devils job.
Mourinho was widely fancied to replace Louis van Gaal at the end of last month after United’s downturn in form.
It was even thought that Mourinho’s representatives contacted Old Trafford officials within 24 hours after he was axed by the Blues.
ESPNFC claim that Mourinho’s camp have become increasingly frustrated over the lack of developments on the United job front.
The report suggests that sources close to Mourinho claim that while he wants to manage an elite club, he might set his sights slightly lower.
It is also thought that United have no appetite to appoint Mourinho as they want to give Louis van Gaal enough time to turn around their fortunes.
United ended their eight-match winless streak when they beat Swansea 2-1 on Saturday.
