JAMIE CARRAGHER believes Jurgen Klopp needs to strengthen his Liverpool side in January, but has urged the Anfield boss not to panic buy.

Philippe Coutinho and Dejan Lovren both went off with hamstring injuries in last night's 1-0 League Cup win over Stoke, while Kolo Toure seemed to end the game with a similar problem.
The trio have joined Mamadou Sakho, Jordan Henderson, Divock Origi, Martin Skrtel, Jordan Rossiter, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez and Jon Flanagan on the treatment table.
And Carragher, who made 737 appearances for the Reds, believes Klopp must take advantage of the January window to add depth to his squad.

The Merseysiders have all but confirmed the arrival of Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Gruijic for £5.1million, but Carragher wants more arrivals.
"I think [Klopp] has brought one in already [Marko Grujic]," the Reds legend said.
"But I think there will be people coming in because of the injuries the club have at the moment. The squad is not deep enough.

Jamie Carragher expects busy January for Jurgen Klopp amid Liverpool injury crisis
Jamie Carragher wants to see Liverpool spend in January

"I don't think as a manager and a club you want to buy someone now in a panic and maybe regret it for next season.
"If he can get the right player that he wants now, get him, if not, bide your time and wait for the summer."
Klopp has repeatedly dismissed speculation that he will look to buy in January, but after yesterday's game he said: "This is something we have to think about."
