HARRY REDKNAPP reckons Manchester United wouldn’t be much better under Sir Alex Ferguson with this current group of players.
United, who take on Derby tomorrow evening (7:55pm) in the FA Cup fourth round, have had a turbulent campaign under Louis van Gaal this term.
Reports have been rife that Jose Mourinho is primed to replace the beleaguered Dutchman at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are currently fifth in the Premier League table, five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.
Though Van Gaal’s long-term future appears to be in doubt, Redknapp doesn’t think Ferguson could bring United out of their current malaise.
“More talk today but still don’t see LVG leaving,” Redknapp tweeted.
“Even if Sir Alex was there they would still only be 5th or 6th with that group of players.”
Van Gaal’s current contract expires in 2017.
