GRAEME LE SAUX thinks two British managers should be considered at the end of the season when Roman Abramovich selects his next Chelsea boss.
The Russian sacked Jose Mourinho in December and replaced him with Guus Hiddink until the end of the season.
Pep Guardiola, Diego Simeone and Antonio Conte are among those being considered to replace the Portuguese long-term.
But former Blues defender Le Saux hopes the achievements of Alan Pardew and Mark Hughes at Crystal Palace and Stoke will see them given the chance to take a big job at some point.
“There's some really talented managers out there,” Le Saux, speaking on behalf of 888poker.com, told Express Sport.
“Simeone's got a lot of credibility with what he's done at Atletico and his style and principles would be a real asset to any Premier League club, Chelsea included.
"But also I look at managers that are doing well under the radar a bit. Mark Hughes at Stoke and Alan Pardew at Palace.
"And not necessarily that they're the right fit for Chelsea at the moment, but you think if they're progressing with those squads then is there going to be an opportunity for them to manage one of the big boys at some point.
“I think those two are doing excellent jobs with their squads and they have less options than they would, in terms of players they can work with and players they can buy, than the top four teams.
“But if they continue to do what they're doing then it would be great if they get the chances, like Brendan Rodgers did going from Swansea to Liverpool.
“It was excellent that he got that opportunity and it would be nice to see more British managers getting those chances.”
