BRANISLAV IVANOVIC appears to have agreed a new one-year deal at Chelsea.
The right back's previous deal was set to expire in the summer, but his recent upturn in form has seen him rewarded with a new contract.
His new deal is in line with the Blues' policy to offer players aged over 30 no more than single year extensions.
It is believed to match his current wage of £120,000-a-week and has the option of a further year.
Ivanovic turns 32 on February 22 and has appeared 24 times in all competitions this season.
But he hasn't been able to help his side mount a strong defence of their Premier League title, with Chelsea currently 14th in the table with just 25 points from 22 games.
Inter Milan, AC Milan and Zenit St Petersburg had shown an interest in signing the defender, who was also interesting Manchester City.
The Serbia captain has made a total of 318 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, scoring 32 goals.
