Man Utd News: Talks opened with Arsenal target, Ferdinand's fear, 'worst side ever'
Rio Ferdinand says Louis van Gaal must secure Manchester United a top four spot
NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you all the latest news from Old Trafford.

Manchester United have opened talks with FC Zurich striker Nishan Burkhart, according to reports.
The 15-year-old is considered to be an exciting future prospect and has already attracted the attention of several big clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Swiss youth international is understood to be a key transfer target for the Red Devils, according to the Daily Mail.
United will be hoping to convince his family to complete a move to Manchester that will see the youngster develop his trade at the club's famous Carrington training facility.

Rio Ferdinand fears United will suffer "catastrophic" consequences if they fail to finish in the top four this season.
Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola have both been linked as potential replacements for Van Gaal - but Ferdinand believes the Dutch boss must focus his attention on helping United secure a top four spot in the next six months.
“Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti will be available this summer and the question is will they be able to do a better job than Van Gaal," Ferdinand told The Sun.
“The board and owners might want to be loyal to Van Gaal after investing so much in him but they also have to do what is best for United.
“And if United finish outside the top four, that will be catastrophic. It might rule out the chance of getting either Guardiola or Ancelotti.
“It will be more difficult to attract the best players, too. The next six months are absolutely crucial.”

The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday
Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has labelled United's current side as the worst he's ever seen, following their 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend.
"Watching on Saturday, that had to be the worst Manchester United team I’ve seen in all my years watching football," Redknapp said in his Daily Mail column. "If that team played week in, week out they’d be in relegation trouble.
"There’s no joy in their football. Nobody is playing with a smile. As a player I was desperate to wipe the smirk off United faces because they knew just how much quality they had. Now they look afraid to express themselves or make a mistake. If you play with fear, you’ve got no chance.
"Yes, it was an inexperienced line-up and they could end up becoming good young players. But it showed how important it is for United that they get back their big-name players as quickly as possible.
"You have to wonder if all those injuries are a result of Louis van Gaal working his players too hard. But injuries are no excuse, especially after spending £250million.
"Now United must do something special. Van Gaal needs a trophy to prove it has not just been two wasted years."
