MORGAN SCHNEIDERLIN insists Manchester United are trying to play attractive football to please their fans.
The Red Devils made it eight games without a win yesterday as they recorded a 0-0 draw with Chelsea.
Louis van Gaal has been criticised for his defensive tactics in recent weeks but against the Blues they looked to play attacking football right from the off.
And Schneiderlin insists the Old Trafford faithful were the inspiration for their improved performance.
"We talked before the game and said it was a must for us to be aggressive, to be on the front foot and to attack, just for our fans because they deserve to see some attractive football," Schneiderlin told the club's website.
"Sometimes we can't do that for whatever reason but today it was a must for us to be on the front foot. We created some magnificent chances and for everyone in the crowd I think it was a beautiful game.
"For us it was a good game as well because Chelsea are a very good team. But it will be a hard night to sleep because we didn't win."
Van Gaal's men sit sixth in the Premier League table, nine points behind leaders Arsenal, and Schneiderlin insists United are still in with a chance of Premier League silverware if they have a successful second half of the season.
"We know that if we can improve on the first part of the season, by scoring more goals and getting back to the strong defensive performances we had before the last few games, then anything can happen," he added.
"This isn't finished. There are five months left, the second part of the season. We must be confident because we are Manchester United, we are one of the biggest teams in the world."
