MICROSOFT has missed the deadline it set itself to roll-out the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile.

Microsoft this week announced some bad news for Windows 10 Mobile users.
Back in October, Microsoft promised that existing Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 handsets would be able to upgrade to Windows 10 in December.
But it appears Microsoft has missed its own deadline, instead pushing back the mobile OS upgrade to sometime in "early 2016," according to Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet.

Earlier this year the US technology firm pushed back the release of its updated Skype messaging apps for Windows 10 following a number of delays.
Microsoft quietly amended an official blog post to reflect the new development schedule when the apps failed to appear on the Windows Store.
But its not all bad news for Windows 10 Mobile users.

The Redmond firm this week rolled out a new build for Windows 10 Mobile users in the Insider Preview program.
Unfortunately the update does not bring any flashy new visual or headline features, but rather focuses on stability and bug fixes.
The new build – version 10586.36 – is set to be the last release of the year.

Microsoft Vice President of Engineering Systems, Gabe Aul has previously confirmed no new Insider builds would be released between now and January.
The latest Microsoft smartphones – the Lumia 950 and 950XL flagships – are both on-sale now and ship with Windows 10 Mobile.
