Louis van Gaal's job under threat as Manchester United board hold crunch meeting
Louis van Gaal's future is hanging in the balance

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly locked in crunch talks over Louis van Gaal's future at the club's HQ.

Ed Woodward, the executive vice-chairman, went into a meeting due to finish mid afternoon, according to the Sun.
It comes after reports that Jose Mourinho is set to take over from the Dutchman.
News News Blog Sport understands Mourinho is ready and waiting to pounce as soon as United pull the trigger.

Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea last week and issued a statement at the weekend insisting he wanted to get straight back into management.
Yesterday reports emerged suggesting he had agreed a five-year deal to take over from Van Gaal - which United have refused to deny.
And this afternoon the Sun have reported that Woodward is chairing a meeting to discuss Van Gaal's future just two weeks after the club claimed his position was safe.

Van Gaal has overseen a run of six games without a win and United have been knocked out of the Champions League.
They dropped out of the top four after losing to Norwich at Old Trafford on Saturday - with some sections of the United fans chanting Mourinho's name.
United face Stoke on Boxing Day before Chelsea on December 28 and are already nine points behind leaders Leicester.
Van Gaal's tactics have frustrated supporters, who have been chanting their 'attack, attack, attack,' mantra over the past month.
The Dutchman has spent over £250million at the club since taking over from David Moyes in 2014.

After the defeat to Norwich Van Gaal admitted he feared the sack.
"Yes of course I am worried about that because I know that belief in a manager is very important, and when you lose the games you play then the belief in a manager shall decrease," he said.
"That is happening now. I cannot close my eyes to that.
"That's the football world. I know that, my board knows that, my players know that. We're not used to that because normally we win, so it's a difficult period."
