JUAN MATA admits Manchester United must turn things around for their fans.
United are now six games without a win and have slipped out of the top four.
Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Norwich saw them overtaken by Tottenham and drop nine points behind leaders Leicester.
United face Stoke on Boxing Day before a dramatic clash with Chelsea on December 28.
"It’s time to prepare for the next game, show our strength as a group and make the most of all these fixtures in the Christmas period so we can start a good run of results," Mata wrote in his blog.
"We are really disappointed for not giving you what you deserve, because your support is amazing and unconditional, but I’m sure that we will turn this situation around."
Reports suggest manager Louis van Gaal is close to the sack with Jose Mourinho waiting in the wings.
The pressure has built on the Dutchman after getting knocked out of the Champions League and with fans calling for a more attacking approach on the pitch.
Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea last week after their difficult first half of the season.
Guus Hiddink has replaced him as interim boss and will be in charge of their Boxing Day clash with Watford before the United game.
