Watford are close to signing Tottenham reject Emmanuel Adebayor

Adebayor was released from his contract by Tottenham Hotspur in September and has been waiting for the January transfer window to open to find a new club.
The 31 year-old striker is keen to relaunch his career in the Premier League and the Hornets made an enquiry about him last summer.
West Ham United and Aston Villa were also keen on signing the Togolese international but their interest has since cooled.

Watford are looking to strike a deal which will see them pay Abebayor around £50,000 a week - that's just half of what he was earning at White Hart Lane.
Abebayor is keen to remain in the London area and Watford may put in a bid but only if they don’t have to match the £5million a year salary he was on at White Hart Lane.
Watford boss Quique Flores admitted back in September that he is a big fan of the hitman and would like him to add bite to their Premier League campaign, saying: "We know Adebayor is an amazing player. My desire is that a lot of big names can play in Watford."
