LEEDS boss Steve Evans has urged Sam Byram to commit his future to the club as Liverpool move closer to completing a £5million deal.
Byram can play in midfield or at full-back and is one of the brightest English prospects in the Championship.
And the Sun claim Jurgen Klopp has sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old, whose contract runs out at the end of the season.
Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is expected to accept an offer of £5m from the Reds in January for the midfielder to avoid losing him on a free in the summer.
But Evans has again stated that he wants the youngster to remain with the club.
“Sam is a top player and that’s why we’re still hoping he’ll be at the football club,” Evans told Sky Sports.
“He’s a player we want to work with but we also want him to commit to the club. With a club the size of Leeds, he should want to commit.”
