Deal for Pep Guardiola to become Chelsea boss in the summer '90 per cent done'
Pep Guardiola has been lined up Chelsea for the summer

PEP GUARDIOLA is set to replace Jose Mourinho as the next permanent Chelsea boss.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich axed Mourinho today after the champions' disastrous start to the season.

And Express Sport understands the deal for Guardiola to become Chelsea boss in the summer is '90 per cent done'.

The Spaniard has told Bayern Munich he will be quitting when his contract expires at the end of the season.

And Guardiola - also wanted by Manchester United and Manchester City - is the man lined up to take Chelsea forward when he becomes available.

Abramovich is likely to appoint former Blues boss Guus Hiddink on an interim basis, before Guardiola becomes available.

A Chelsea statement read: "All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense contribution since he returned as manager in the summer of 2013.

"His three league titles, FA Cup, Community Shield and three League Cup wins over two spells make him the most successful manager in our 110-year history.

"But both Jose and the board agreed results have not been good enough this season and believe it is in the best interests of both parties to go our separate ways.
