The 34-year-old joined the German giants in 2014 and his current deal expires at the end of the season.
The former Spain international is believed to be looking for a new three-year deal to stay with Bayern, but the club are unwilling to meet his demands.

He was signed for the Reds by Rafa Benitez from Real Sociedad and went on to make 210 appearances in all competitions.

"Recently, I had a talk with Xabi. He feels very good at Bayern Munich and in the city of Munich too," Rummenigge told German newspaper Bild.
"He signalled to me he is interested in staying in Munich. Rumours he would plan to leave are wrong."
