Gabriel Jesus in action for Palmeiras |
ARSENAL are in talks to sign Palmeiras striker Gabriel Jesus, according to reports.
Italian news outlet CalcioNews24 claims the Gunners have already contacted the 18-year-old's representatives over a possible move.
Arsenal officials will hold talks with the Brazilian club next week as they look to push through the deal as soon as possible.
Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen to add to his attacking options in the January transfer window.
With Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck both out injured and Theo Walcott only returning recently from a spell on the sidelines, the Frenchman has a lack of options up front.
And Wenger could be set to take a punt on the young South American as he looks to strengthen the Gunners' title push.
Jesus, who featured for Brazil at the Under-20 World Cup earlier this year, scored 37 goals in 22 matches for Palmeiras’ youth team last term.
So far this year the 18-year-old has scored four goals in 20 league appearances in his breakthrough campaign.
