Mourinho has been lined up for a move to United after being sacked by Roman Abramovich last week.
United boss Louis van Gaal has admitted his position in charge at Old Trafford is under threat, with the 20-time English champions currently on their worst run of form for 17 years.
An early exit from the Champions League, a lack of goals and just three wins in 13 games have put the Dutchman on the brink of the sack.
And Mourinho has been tipped to replace Van Gaal, with reports in Spain suggesting a five-year deal had been agreed.
But his agent Jorge Mendes has played down suggestions the Portuguese manager has struck a deal.
He told Globoesporte: "There is nothing. We don't know what will happen in the future, but now there is no agreement. There isn't an official proposal either, that's not true."
Mourinho is currently believed to be home in Portugal spending time with his family after attending Brighton's game against Middlesbrough at the weekend
