Tottenham prepare £8m swoop for Liverpool and West Ham target if Berahino bid fails

TOTTENHAM will bid for Brazil striker Alexandre Pato in January if they fail once again to land West Brom's Saido Berahino, according to reports.
 
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is a known suitor of Berahino and bid for the striker during the summer.
But West Brom held firm on their £25million valuation of their former England Under-21 ace, who in effort to push through the move.
And the Daily Star Sunday claim Pochettino is preparing to be snubbed again after drawing up a list of back-up targets.
 
It is understood Pato, 26, is on that list and that a move to the Premier League is probable - although Spurs face a tough battle to secure the Brazilian.

As for Berahino, the forward teamed up well with Spurs ace Harry Kane during European Under-21 Championships qualifying last season and remains Pochettino's prime target.
