There's something VERY wrong with this iPhone, but can YOU tell what it is?

This iPhone lookalike runs Android OS and costs just £22 in China

UH-OH, the Apple design team won't be happy about this one.

This iPhone is currently on-sale for £22 – some 25 times cheaper than those sold in the Apple Store.

But there's a catch.

The £22 iPhone is a lookalike running a skinned version of Android.

The remarkable iPhone 6S clone is the latest export from China and out of the box, it looks identical to Apple's flagship smartphone.

While early iPhone replicas had ugly antennas and TV tuners sporting from the case, the team behind this lookalike have got the design down to a tee.

Unfortunately that's where the similarities end.

 

The iPhone clone has a larger five-inch display but it's far from pin-sharp

The iPhone 6S doppelganger has a slightly larger display – some 5-inches over the iPhone 6S' 4.7inches.

The bigger display is also much worse, sporting a lower resolution of some 960 × 540 pixels instead of the iPhone 6s' 1334 × 750.

It also has a much slower Spreadtrum SC773 processor and ships with a paltry 4GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM.

For comparison, the iPhone 6S, which starts from £539, runs on Apple's own 64-bit dual-core A9 chip, which clocks out at 1.85GHz.

 

The lookalike has the same industrial design as the latest smartphone from Apple

Controversy hit the A9 chip last month after iPhone owners reported differences in battery life between iPhone models, depending on which manufacturer was responsible for building the A9 chip.

Samsung-built A9 chips can drain battery life faster than those made by TSMC, it was alleged.

But while that might not be a problem with the £22 clone, owners will also be unable to test out Apple's new pressure-sensitive 3D Touch technology.

Live Photos, upgraded 12MP rear camera and the ability to record and edit 4K video footage are also not included.

In fact, the iPhone clone runs a modified version of Google's rival Android mobile operating system.

Although it looks the part, don't expect to be able to download or use any iOS apps.

Apple recently reported record-breaking sales of its iPhone after it sold a staggering 48million smartphones in three months.

Apple also revealed mammoth profits for the entire year with a quarterly revenue of $51.5 billion and quarterly net profit of $11.1 billion.

And the Cupertino firm is not showing any signs of slowing down.

Not only will the next financial quarter include holiday sales for the new iPhones but Apple has also started to sell its revamped Apple TV set-top box.

The US company is also excepted to launch its new larger iPad Pro later this month, too.
