ARSENE WENGER heaped praise on striker Olivier Giroud after he helped his Arsenal side to a 3-0 win over Swansea.
Giroud broke the deadlock at the the Liberty Stadium just after half-time and the Gunners went on to claim a comfortable victory thanks to further strikes from Laurent Koscielny and Joel Campbell.
It was the in-form Frenchman's fifth goal in six games for club and country and he looks a completely different player from the one whose struggles were well-documented at the start of the campaign.
He was even booed by France supporters and was widely maligned by the media for failing to find the net in the early parts of this term.
But Gunners boss Wenger was quick to praise his player for ignoring the critics.
"That's what you want (from Giroud)," he said.
"The less we talk and more we play the better we play - that's our job and that's what he does."
The Gunners had failed to beat the Swans in the previous three clashes between the two sides.
A frustrating first-half looked like that record might go on a little longer, but Wenger feels they added another dimension to their game in the second half.
"They took six points off us last year and that shows we've moved forward," he added. "The second half we were a different team.
"After we scored the first goal it was all us and there was only one winner on the pitch.
"I feel they offered a lot in first half, then technically we were on top and we upped our pace in the second half and from then on it was more difficult for them."
